At 6:23… You should kneel when chopping wood that is placed on the ground. This is so that if you miss the wood, the blade will hit the ground before it hits your leg. Also don’t chop a piece of wood on bare ground because the knife could go into the ground and hit a stone and damage the blade. Place another piece of wood under it to stop the blade from hitting the ground. Thank you for sharing. Nice blades! 👍❤️
They are both wonderful tools. The Nata is better for boreal forests. If your used to the design and the weight distribution, it is unstoppable. I grew up using machetes and have several. Mostly by Condor. The ultimate all purpose machete is the Benjamin Bouchard designed designed machete for Baryonyx Knife Co. i love the Nata and I have a Bushcraft Parang machete which is amazing. You won’t go wrong with the Nata, however it is better in a boreal environment as it is an exquisite chopper.
Did you use the Nata new and right out of the packaging? Mine didn’t come that sharp, and it cuts much better after I worked on the edge a bit. I love parangs too, but the nata can baton in ways thin blades can’t.
Alright so we know the nata (Japanese HATCHET) isn't the best at cutting dry flimsy brush that transfers any sort of force away from the cut and is much better at cutting actual obstacles and the parang (machete) is much better at making you feel like a powerful person while cutting up whimsical brush
🚨But that's precisely what always proves to be the most significant obstacle to survival in the wild. Its not dehydration, starvation, sickness, animals or insects that eventually doom the lost & unwary traveler. Its whimsical brush that does it.

I'd go with the Nata.
Where did you get the parang kydex sheath?

yup I did.straight out of the packaging. pretty good for batoning i agree
Why did you choose the double-edged bevel versus single-edged? I would assume that double-edged would interfere with batoning…
Wow... My best friend, Made an excellent video. I really liked it. Beauty is extraordinary. Thank you very much for the video.

Whats the edge angle for the nata?
17 degrees (8.5 degrees on each edge)
so whats your opinion on this? NATA or Duku?
Nata is a excellent axe. Too clumsy for other use.The duku is light and capable of slashing through all kinds of stuff.. so duku it is..
@@FakawiTribe I think the Nata is designed more for boreal forests
@@lurchie I agree
This fellow should watch how the Japanese use nata first before conducting test
My opinionis that you are using both incorrectly.
D way u test is quite bias...
1:30
Cantas salah arah dan cara ayunan kurang betul..
You are waiting time and tools, chopping hard wood on the ground
4:07 its just pvc 😂 not kydex, bruh
Kydex is PVC.... So i guess you are correct
Buat pun x betol
😅
Fuh,
Whack!
